Above: this tin is more similar in style to Art Nouveau, this would probably target a more traditional, conservative market
Above: a very cartoon/comic based tin from Fossil, a great target market for this tin would be in children and young adults
Above: a common theme in Fossil tins are modern/contemporary looks, all target women with a love for design
Above: Art on the tins above were similar to those seen during the Second World War and the second half of the 20th century, this target market would contain an older, more conservative crowd
Above: more contemporary influenced tins (broad target market)
Above: a very retro-1950's and 60's design, obviously targeted towards boys and young teens
Above: almost a "Dada"-like theme on this tin with the randomness (target market appears to be young, creative women)
Above: Fossil once again shows its retro aspect through these three tins (broad target market)
As it can be seen, all Fossil tins are based almost entirely on art history and movements to target their customers and appeal to the market. These tins would make GREAT collector's items, and I may base my final project off of something similar to this. In my personal opinion, not many (current) franchises can touch the marketing and advertising success that Fossil has achieved through products such as these tin boxes.
